Enable Thumbnails in File Explorer

If you only see generic icons instead of image or video previews, you can turn on thumbnails in File Explorer with these simple steps.

Thumbnails not showing on folders

You want to see preview images and videos instead of plain icons when browsing folders.

Windows is set by default to show icons only, not thumbnails.

Open File Explorer and click the View tab at the top.
Click Options on the right, then select the View tab in the Folder Options window.
Under Advanced settings, uncheck Always show icons, never thumbnails, then click Apply and OK.
